The Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin paid a visit to PT Evergen Resources on August 29, 2022. The purpose of his visit was to explore Evergen as the first company in Indonesia that engages in a microalgae-based project. Evergen is also the first and only natural astaxanthin producer in the country.

On this occasion, Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that he, on behalf of the Ministry of Health, would give favorable support to such a bio-technology company, such as easing the regulation that includes changing sources of raw materials.

This is in line with the agenda of President Joko Widodo to accelerate the local production of pharmaceutical materials, to decrease the dependence on importing such materials from overseas.
